Shirley Mae “Mimi” Humble
August 22, 1935 – May 3, 2026
Shirley Mae “Mimi” Humble, 90, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born on August 22, 1935, in Wayne, Indiana, Shirley was the daughter of Goldie Francis Bryant and Kelly Gibson Bryant. She later moved to Oklahoma, where she spent her retirement years near family in Wagoner.
Shirley married the love of her life, Alva Humble, in 1954. Together they built a life centered on family, faith, and resilience. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alva Humble, and her sister, Patricia Ann Bryant.
Mimi was a devoted homemaker and a servant to her community, always willing to lend a helping hand through her volunteer work and church. She found joy in caring for others—whether sewing, knitting, or cooking meals for those she loved—and rarely missed a country gospel concert. She also had a bit of a wild side, enjoying time fishing, riding four-wheelers, and especially cruising on her Vespa scooter, always living life on her own terms. Her door was always open, and over the years she welcomed countless people into her home, treating each one like family—you never quite knew who might be sitting at her dinner table on any given night. Above all, her home was a place of warmth, comfort, and belonging.
She will be remembered for her quick wit, her love of playful banter, and a personality that was equal parts funny, stubborn, and deeply loving. Mimi had a way of making people feel at home, and her presence will be missed by all who knew her.
She is also survived by numerous friends and extended family whose lives she touched over the years. To Mimi, family was never limited by blood—if she knew you and loved you, you were family. She is survived by her god grandson, Brice Martin and wife Cheyenne, along with their children Jaden, Bryson, Rawlins and Whitney Holcomb; her god granddaughter, Caitlin Martin and partner AJ Easiley, along with their children Kolbi, Kambri, Ace, and Keelynn; her goddaughter, Debi Hamilton and husband Jeff Hamilton; April Watkins and children; Ashley and Kevin Bertalot and their children; and other family members, including Galen and Linda Helms, Dustin and Sam Seaborn, Kristin Seaborn, Lynda and Mike Cantrell.
A graveside service will be held at Fort Gibson National Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband. Services are under the direction of Mallett Funeral Home.
The family extends their sincere gratitude to all those who cared for Mimi in her final years, showing love and kindness to someone who had spent her life giving so much to other
