Shirley Ann Orsburn, 82, of Muskogee, Oklahoma, passed away on May 16, 2026. She was born on December 27, 1943, in McAlester, Oklahoma. Shirley’s life was a testimony of love, endurance, and grace.
She was a woman whose presence carried warmth, whose hands carried hard work, and whose heart carried people. Her life reflected Christ in the way she loved others, forgave freely, and welcomed even those who had once hurt her. She was beautiful, and that beauty lived on through her family, passing from generation to generation like a quiet legacy.
Shirley had a way of making people feel seen and welcomed, and she loved deeply and sincerely. She was hardworking in every sense of the word, and she found joy in caring for others. Her cooking was an expression of her love—simple acts that fed both body and soul.
Above all, Shirley loved Jesus, and her faith shaped every part of her life. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roy Orsburn, with whom she shared 43 years of marriage, as well as her companion of 16 years, Buddy Arend. She was also preceded in death by her children, Lisa Conard and Sherry Orsburn, and by several siblings who went before her.
She is survived by her daughter, Kelly Mensch, who remained faithfully by her side until the very end, walking with her in love, care, and devotion. She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Tommy Cobb (Michelle Cobb), Melissa Cobb-Cote (Larry Cote), Kimberly Cobb (Jason Byrd), Matthew Shelton, Michael Shelton (Liz Shelton), and James Conrad. Her love continues through them, shaping families rooted in her strength and care. Her legacy lives on even further through her great-grandchildren: Ahbrianna Deer-In-Water, Addalynn Deer-In-Water, Roman Deer-In-Water, Tommy Jr. Cobb (and friend Dayton), Natalie Cobb, Wyatt Cobb, Seth Cote, William Cote, Lance Cote, Ethan Cote, Ryder Shelton, Takenya Shelton, Matthew Shelton, Kianna Shelton, Rubin Scroggins, Austin Scroggins, Taleah Conrad, Mitchell Conard, Grace Conard, Lakota Conard, Jaivyn Kirk, Ariyah Kirk, Rokiya Kirk, and Hunter Kirk. She is also remembered by her great-great-grandchildren: Ranson Anderson, Amira Anderson, Atlas Byrd, Everest Byrd, Cassius Byrd, Emberleee Applegate, Xander Chuculate, and Zane Chuculate.
Shirley’s life was surrounded by love and care, especially from Lavon and Janie, who faithfully helped care for her. Throughout her final moments, her daughter, Kelly Mensch remained by her side until the very end, holding her close in love. Though she has gone on to be with the Lord, her legacy remains—written in the lives she shaped, the meals she made, the love she gave freely, and the faith she lived daily. She leaves behind not only a family, but a living testimony of grace, strength, and devotion to God.”
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 1:00 pm to celebrate the life of Shirley Orsburn in the Chapel of Mallett Funeral Home. Officiating is her granddaughter, Ahbrianna Deer-in-Water.
