Obituary
Shirley Ann (Liston) Posey was born August 25, 1935 in Bristow, OK to Flornoy and Effie May (Hill) Liston. She grew up in Coweta, OK and attended Draughn's Business School following graduation from Coweta High School in 1953. Shirley married Earl Richard Posey on January 19, 1957. They moved to Wagoner with their sons in 1969 and settled in to a long and happy life together that would have spanned 60 years this month. Together they owned and operated the Wagoner Small Engine in Wagoner. Shirley was an active and longtime member of the Wagoner First Baptist Church.
Shirley returned to Coweta, OK to make her home following Earl's passing in 2012. Her family and friends in Coweta and Wagoner will all miss Shirley very much.
She departed this life on Thursday, January 12, 2017 in Tulsa, OK. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Richard Posey, January 17, 2012; her parents, Flornoy and Effie Liston; three brothers, Fred Liston, Jim Liston and Floyd Liston and two sisters, Helen Cox and Joanne Harris, Shirley's twin.
Survivors include three sons, Rick Posey and wife, Sonya, of Coweta, OK, Mike Posey of Tulsa, OK and Buddy Posey and wife, Shelley, of Mounds, OK; grandchildren, Joshua Posey, Jeremy Posey, Amanda Miers, Brando Posey, Matthew Posey, Caleb Posey, Matthew Posey, Paige Baeser, Joey Wails, Cody Wails and Dalton Wails; five great-grandchildren, Schayla, Tyler, Tesla, Leo and Gentry; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
A Visitation will be held from 5:00 -7:00 PM Thursday evening at Mallett Funeral Home and Crematory in Wagoner, OK.
The Funeral Service will be at 10:00 AM Friday, January 20 at the First Baptist Church, 401 N.E. 2nd Street, Wagoner, OK. The Reverend Mark Pointer will officiate. Interment will follow in Pioneer Cemetery, Wagoner. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Posey, Matthew Posey, Cody Wails, Joey Wails, Kelly Liston and Tyler Posey. Honorary Pallbearer will be Matthew Lee Posey.
