Steven "Steve" Earl Lindsey

May 28, 1952 — April 3, 2026

Wagoner

Steven “Steve” Earl Lindsey went home to be with the Lord on April 3, 2026. He was born on May 28, 1952, in Coweta, Oklahoma. Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Huff and Virginia Lindsey, and brothers Floyd Carol Lindsey and James Wyatt Lindsey.

Steve was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He loved his family deeply and expressed that love in practical, steady ways. He was present for the people he loved, attending games, activities, and important moments over the years. He was loyal to his wife, dependable to his extended family, and a constant source of support to those closest to him.

He worked as an insurance agent, primarily serving churches, schools, and nonprofit institutions. It was work that fit him well: he cared about people, valued trust, and took pride in serving organizations that were themselves serving others.

Steve was a devout Christian whose faith shaped his life. He loved talking about the Bible and matters of faith with conviction and curiosity.

He was also very funny. People knew him as quick-witted, sharp, and always ready to tease or poke fun as a way of breaking the ice and making others feel at ease.

He loved lighthouses, New England, British television shows, photography, stories of nomads, and music - especially traditional hymns, classical, and bluegrass. He often visited the mountains and meadows in Colorado.

Steve always had a ready joke, a helping hand, and deep convictions thoughtfully expressed. He did it all while wearing a starched Oxford shirt.

Those who loved him knew they could rely on his presence, wisdom, and care. His absence now makes those gifts feel all the more precious.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia of Wagoner; son, Zac Lindsey, his wife, Lauren, and daughters, Clara and Lydia of Tulsa; daughter, Megan Street, her husband, Jeremy, and daughter, Emma of Broken Arrow. He is also survived by his sister, Merry Massey of Coweta and many other friends and relatives who cherish his memory.
