Obituary

Lila Sue Scroggins was born May 8, 1951, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, one of seventeen children born to Mitchell Francis Welch and Dora (Watkins) Welch. Sue graduated from Broken Arrow High School. She met the love of her life, Herman J.B. Scroggins, at a young age, and they were married on November 23, 1968. This began a long, happy marriage that lasted more than 54 years. Their love for one another stayed strong through the years, and to all who know them they will always be the "Rooster and Hen". J.B. and Sue were blessed with two children, Susan Renee and Brian Jay.

Sue was a woman of great faith in God. She was an active member of the Lighthouse Full Gospel Church. Many have been blessed to hear her singing in the church. Every week she enjoyed meeting with the ladies of the church to play cards or socialize in other ways. Her family recalls how she also enjoyed shopping.

Sue departed this life on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at her home in Wagoner, Oklahoma. Her loving family were with her as she went to be with the Lord. Comfort can be found in the knowledge that she was greeted by her parents, Mitchell and Dora Welch; her parents-in-law, James "Buster" and Myrtle Scroggins; and her siblings, James Welch, Troy Welch, Raymond Welch, Robert Welch, Albert Welch, Richard Welch, Cora Bell Welch, Mildred Welch Scroggins, Dorthy Welch Len, Frances Welch Rollins and Barbara Welch Kerns.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, J.B. Scroggins of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Susan Renee and Toby Lindell of Wagoner; son, Brian Jay Scroggins of Wagoner; grandchildren, Haley Burt, Ciera Lewis and husband, Jeremy, Brian Daniel Scroggins, Johnathan Scroggins, Billy Burt, Kaitlyn Lindell and Tobias Lindell; great-grandchildren, Kaiden Burt, Laken Burt and Baker Lewis; siblings, Harold Welch, Jenny Welch Peckenpaugh, Linda Welch Brumfield, Bonnie Welch Baker and Bernice Welch Scroggins; many other extended family and friends.

Sue's life will be celebrated at her funeral service at 2 PM Thursday, February 2, 2023 at the Lighthouse Full Gospel Church in Wagoner. The Reverend Lisa Sowers will officiate.

Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Wagoner.

Viewing for friends and family will be Tuesday from 9 AM until 5 PM and Wednesday from 9 AM until 7 PM.
