Norman, Sylvia Joyce age 83, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2018. She was born in Kansas City, MO on August 13, 1934, to Horace Lyle Van Wormer and Gertrude Edith Van Wormer (neé Dunkin)

Sylvia graduated from Carlsbad Community College receiving her Associate degree.

She enjoyed fabric crafts, reading, and traveling. Sylvia was a volunteer of the Carlsbad Medical Center Auxiliary for 30 years.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 32 years, Howard Hartley Norman; parents, Horace and Gertrude Van Wormer; sister Iris Grimmett.

Sylvia is survived by her loving children, Douglas Norman of Oakland, CA, Stuart Norman of Arlington, WA, and Suzanne Norman of Cuba, NM; grandchildren, Zachary, Amelia, Jennifer, and Steven; seven great grandchildren. Sylvia will be greatly missed by her loving family and by those whose lives she touched.

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, June 29, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Pioneer Memorial Cemetery in Wagoner, Oklahoma.
