Obituary

Teresa Angela "Tess" Sleeper passed away on June 16, 2024, at the age of 94 in Plano, Texas. Tess was born on August 27, 1929, in Providence, Rhode Island to Pasquale Joseph Falcone and Anna Rosalyn Falcone. She graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in 1947 and worked in Providence City Hall at the Office of the City Tax Assessor until 1951. While at a Girls City Club dance in 1949, she met and danced with a Navy Sailor from Wagoner, Oklahoma, Walter Jackson "Jack" Sleeper, Jr. They were married on November 25, 1950, in Providence, Rhode Island and danced beautifully together for 65 years.

After the Navy, Tess and Jack moved to Wagoner, Oklahoma and had two sons, Richard Jackson "Rick," and Thomas Michael "Thom," while Jack completed his education at the University of Oklahoma. The family then moved to Wichita Falls, Texas where their third son, Jack David, was born before relocating to Dallas, Texas in 1965 where Tess and Jack settled and raised their family.

Tess was a sweet, kind, understanding, patient and supportive woman that enjoyed people, gatherings of family and friends, cooking, singing, playing piano, traveling, and dancing. She cherished being with family more than anything else, particularly children. She was blessed with a large loving family, dear friends and loving acquaintances that surrounded her throughout her 94 years. She was a devoted mother, wife, daughter, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and very dear friend to many. Her beautiful smile and compassionate spirit left an impression on all who crossed her path. She was known for her kindness and generosity and found immense joy in loving and caring for others. Tess had an ability to connect with everyone she met, her warmth and sincerity assured everyone around her that they were cherished and valued. Tess lives on by the values she espoused and passed onto others. She is loved and missed but her presence remains.
