Terry Jimmy Hicks was born December 16, 1946 in Teresita, Oklahoma to Clarence and Ruby (Hobbs) Hicks. He was one of five sons. In July of 1965 Terry entered the Army. He went on to serve for 3 years, being honorably discharged in July 1968. On August 10, 1968 he married the former Louetta Jay, and they began their life together.
Terry was a welder who worked for several companies over the years. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Terry loved to collect things, two of them being turquoise rings and veteran's hats. He also loved his family and spending time with them.
Terry departed this life on Monday, May 31, 2021 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 74 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Ruby Hicks, and his brothers, Harold, William, Jerry and Larry.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Louetta Hicks of the home; son, Jimmy Hicks, of Pryor; daughter, Christina Berry, of Wagoner; daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Dale Collins, of Wagoner; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren plus two on the way; sisters-in-law, Shirley, Debbie and Pat; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be on Thursday, June 3 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. with a visitation for friends to greet the family from 5 to 7 p.m. at Mallett Funeral Home Chapel.
The funeral service honoring and celebrating his life will be on Friday, June 4, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Lighthouse Full Gospel Church in Wagoner, Oklahoma. Reverend Lisa Sowers will officiate. Interment will follow in Bennett Addition of Elmwood Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Daniel Collins, Kenneth Hicks, Kenneth Hicks Jr., Timothy Jay, Kasey Hicks, and Lester Pratt. The honorary pallbearer will be Dale Collins. The U.S. Army will provide military honors.
