Obituary

Thelma June Spitler, who most knew as Sally, passed this life on March 20, 2024 in Tulsa, Oklahoma surrounded by family.  Sally was born on May 26, 1924 in Terre Haute, Indiana to Lenzie Reynolds and Florence Minnie (Exline) Reynolds.  She lived a full life for 99 years and lived life to the fullest.  If there were a theme song for her life, it would be "I Did It My Way" by Frank Sinatra.

Anyone who knew Sally, knew her love language was food.  If you were lucky enough to eat some of her food, you were lucky enough.  She enjoyed cooking for large family gatherings and always cooked enough to feed an army! Sally loved beautiful flowers and showcased her love through her evolving display of flowers in her yard. Her commitment and dedication to her display of flowers paid off when she won the Small Lawn of the Week award. She was so excited to receive that award.

Sally was married in 1965 to Marion "Short" Spitler.  They owned and operated the Spitler Trash Service in Wagoner, Oklahoma, until his death in 1979.  After his death, she went to work in the food service industry, working at Piccadilly Cafeteria, Luby's Cafeteria and retired from Walmart Deli at the age of 80.

She is survived by her little dog Floppy, four children, daughters and their spouses Barbara & Al Roberts from Haymarket, VA, Susie & Mike Cagle and Tinker & Ronnie Gray all of Wagoner; and her son and his spouse Dan & Deanna Eggers of Wagoner.  Grandchildren Travis Compton, Tonya Compton Hart and Jolene Hunt. Great grandchildren include Morgan Shepherd, Tyler Compton, Dakota Eggers, Wyatt Fulk, Jessie and Mattie Hunt, Isaiah and Wyatt Barrett, Blaine, Tarrah and Amanda Stephens. Great-great grandchildren include Payson and Gatlin Eggers, Haidyn and Hollyn Shepherd, Walker Compton, Copelynn and Waylon Fulk.

Sally was preceded in death by her husband of 14 years, Marion Spitler, her son Terry Eggers, and her grandchildren Clint Cagle and Angela Kerr.

In keeping with Mom's wishes, she will be cremated and there will be no funeral service.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wagoner Rose Garden Club in her memory.
