Obituary

On Friday, January 11, 2019, Thi Ty Nguyen-Newtow passed away, at age of 67, at St. John's Hospital in Tulsa, OK. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, January 28, 2019 at the Cornerstone Community Church of the Nazarene, 1308 South Dewey Avenue, Wagoner, OK.

Thi Ty was born on July 15, 1951 in Saigon, Vietnam. At the age of three years she was adopted to an American family in San Francisco, CA.

Thi Ty married Andy Parker Tucker on August 23, 1983. They had one son, Andrew Paul Tucker of Wagoner. They enjoyed fourteen years together before his death.

Thi Ty later married Bernard Garland Newton of Virginia. He also preceded her in death.

Thi Thy was a loving and loyal wife and a caring mother. She worked at Unarco, Inc. for 27 years, missing only two days' work during that time. She was a hard working woman and later was employed at Superior Linen for ten years before retiring at the age of 62.

Her family will always remember these things about her: that she would never give up on anything she put her mind to. She always put others ahead of her own needs. Thi Ty was a strong, independent woman who had a huge heart and wouldn't hesitate to let you know what she thought. She fought for everything she had. She was much respected and would do anything to protect her family. She loved her animals with everything she had; they were part of her family.

Thi Ty enjoyed getting her hands dirty, planting and gardening in her yard. Whenever she wasn't outside, she would be inside decorating her house. She had a creative mind and had pleasure in collectibles. She was a leader and a role model to many and would uplift people's spirits. She had a positive vibe and an infectious smile.

Thi Ty will be greatly missed by family, friends and loved ones. The world has lost a kind and compassionate soul, who can never be replaced.

Mallett Funeral Home and Crematory was in charge of cremation.
