Tommy Joe Pofahl Sr. was born November 20, 1940 in Rose, Oklahoma to Lyle and Eva (Bradshaw) Pofahl. He attended Okay schools. Tommy married Phyllis Ann Worley on March 21, 1959 in Stigler, Oklahoma. They were married for nearly 53 years before her death in 2012.

He was a lifetime Muskogee resident and was employed as a factory worker before retirement.

In his spare time he enjoyed playing cards with family and fishing. Tommy was a baseball fan. He loved watching his sons play ball while they were growing up and still enjoyed watching on television.

Tommy departed this life Sunday, May 17, 2020 at Porta Caeli House in Tulsa, OK at the age of 79 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Pofahl, his parents, Lyle and Eva Pofahl, one son, Robert Pofahl and five siblings, Ervin, Paul, Bobby, Mary and Betty.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Diane Pofahl of Broken Arrow, OK and Larry and Diana Pofahl of Muskogee, OK; two siblings, Raymond Pofahl of Browns Mill, N.J. and Ann Davis of Wagoner, OK; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; fourteen nephews, eleven nieces; other extended family and friends.

A graveside funeral service to celebrate his life will be at 1:00 pm Friday, May 22, 2020 in the Pavilion in Greenhill Cemetery in Muskogee, OK. Mr. Pofahl will be laid to rest beside his wife, Phyllis.

The service will be closed casket.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Porta Caeli House, 2449 North Harvard Avenue, Tulsa, OK  74115.

In accordance with guidelines from the CDC and Oklahoma Governor Stitt's requirements, we will be limited to fifty attendees at the service.
