A Memorial Service for Tommy Sherrill, 58, of Wagoner, was held at 2 PM Sunday, Dec. 6, 2009 at the Mallett Funeral Home Chapel in Wagoner, who was in charge of arrangements. Military Funeral Honors were provided by members of the United States Marine Corps. Tommy Lee Sherrill was born November 26, 1951 in Tulsa, OK to Donald Harry and Maudane Delores (Colvin) Sherrill. He departed this life on Monday, November 30, 2009 at his home in the Toppers Addition near Wagoner, OK. Tom was a college graduate and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He served for more than seven years and achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant. Tom was a truck driver, working in many areas of the industry over the years. Big Tom enjoyed the companionship of his dogs, B.B. and Al. He also loved tinkering with old cars, especially his Impala, and enjoying life with his family. He is survived by his children, Tommy Lee Sherrill II and his wife, Jaclyn, Diana Lynn Grady, Joshua Ryan Sherrill and his wife, Cristy, Jimmie Don Smith and his wife, Laurie, Teresa, Lee Ann, Donna and Mike, and countless other children he raised, as well as lots of grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Ernest Leon Sherrill Sr.; his sister, Donetta Lynn McMillan; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Anthony Curtis "Tony" Sherrill and his wife Merita Joyce (Taylor) Sherrill.
