Trenton Hays Appleton, better known as Trent, departed this life on Monday, January 19, 2026, at the age of 24 years. He has gone far too soon but lived a full life and made countless memories that will forever be treasured.
Trent was a great young man, a gentle giant, and someone people truly loved to be around. He had a contagious laugh and was always fun to be with. He would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. Raised in Wagoner, Oklahoma, Trent grew up on the Cannon farm where he inherited many great traits and had strong role models to look up to. He attended and proudly graduated from Wagoner Public Schools in 2020. As the first grandchild, he was everything to his family. He was deeply loved and never spoiled, and he was truly the life of the party.
Trent loved being outdoors and had a special love for dogs. From birth, his proud papa, Travis made sure he had his first pair of boots and Carhartt clothing. Around preschool age, Trent could often be found running around the Cannon farm with his pants tucked inside his boots and his shirt tucked into his underwear. He had a passion for cars, especially Dodge Challengers and Chargers, and loved watching The Fast and the Furious movies, especially those featuring Vin Diesel. Trent enjoyed all genres of music and even introduced many of his friends to Kid Rock. He was truly a well-rounded young man.
Trent proudly enlisted in the United States Army, serving from 2020 to 2023. His mother cherishes memories of loading up in the car with Trent on a whim and heading to Seattle, Washington. His father fondly remembers the perfect timing they shared when they switched off driving so he could come home from the military. One special family memory involved Todd Riggs, during Trent’s first-time home, he had Todd pull over his mother, Michelle in his patrol unit. When she stopped, Trent surprised her with his first homecoming since enlisting in the military.
Trent was gifted a 50-cc four-wheeler from his grandfather Travis Appleton and received a bobcat from his great grandfather Richard Fielden, memories that remain treasured by his family.
Trent was preceded in death by his maternal great grandparents Richard and Violet Fielden and Charles and Jeanne Cannon, his paternal great grandparents Laverne Buck and E. L. York, his maternal grandmother Teresa Cannon, his paternal grandparents Travis and Connie Appleton, and his aunts and uncles Frank and Trudy Traut, Michael Cannon, and Gala Watkins.
Those left to cherish and miss the many memories of his life include his parents, Kirk and Michelle Appleton of Wagoner, Oklahoma, his siblings Brent Appleton and Gatlyn Appleton of Wagoner, Oklahoma, his maternal grandparents, Chuck Cannon and LeAnnTunnell of Wagoner, Oklahoma, his aunts, Melody Cannon of Wagoner, Oklahoma, Katrena Kindell of Wagoner, OK, and Chelsea Appleton; and his uncle, Jason Appleton; his great aunt and uncle, Rick and Pam Fielden of Derby, Kansas, and Danny Watkins of Wagoner, Oklahoma. He is also survived by his cousins, Dustin, Cody, Nykole, Maci, Bryce, Delaney, Addi, and Journi, along with numerous other family members and friends, all who will miss him immensely.
This loss is tremendous, and his family will continue to keep his memory alive through the many wonderful moments shared during his 24 years.
