Tye Leigh Turner

Tye Leigh Turner, 49, of Wagoner, Oklahoma, passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at Hillcrest Hospital South in Tulsa, Oklahoma, surrounded by her children, life partner, and people who loved her. She was born on August 1, 1976, in Oceanside, California.

Tye lived a life defined by loyalty, passion, and a generous heart. She was a well-known and respected dog handler, especially devoted to the American Pit Bull Terrier, her favorite breed. Her love for animals was evident to all who knew her, and she took great pride in the care, training, and companionship she shared with her dogs.

Beyond her love for animals, Tye embraced the camaraderie of the biker community. She found joy in the open road and was deeply committed to giving back, participating in numerous charity rides and events benefiting children. Her compassion and willingness to help others left a lasting impact on many lives.

Above all, Tye cherished her family and friends. She was deeply devoted to her children and granddaughter, and treasured the time spent making memories with those she loved most. She also held a special place in her heart for her Gomez, whose companionship brought her comfort and happiness.

She was preceded in death by her aunt, Loretta Parr.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Bryttani Mitchell of Houston, Texas, James Yoes of Grandview, Texas, currently stationed in Japan, and Tye Mitchell of Houston, Texas; her beloved granddaughter, Zoey Mitchell; and her life partner, Jeff Hanson, affectionately known as “Papa Jeff”; along with many friends and members of the biker and dog handling communities who will miss her dearly.

Tye will be remembered for her fierce loyalty, kind spirit, and the deep love she shared with all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy lives on in the hearts she touched and the lives she enriched.

Per Tye’s wishes there will be no memorial service.
