Vernon Leroy Garrett, 83, long-time Porter, OK resident departed this life on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on June 4, 1943, to Vernon Garrett and Ruth Pearl (Adams) Garrett in Muskogee, Oklahoma.

The family will greet friends and relatives at a Visitation on Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 5- 7 p.m. in the Chapel of Mallett Funeral Home.
A Funeral Service will be held to honor the life of Vernon Garrett on Friday, September 25, 2026, at 4:00 pm in the Chapel of Mallett Funeral Home. Reverend Charles L Mattix III will officiate.
