Vernon M. Rosenthal, 98, of Wagoner, died Saturday, June 12, 2010 at the Wagoner Care Center. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Church of God in Wagoner under the direction of Mallett Funeral Home. The Reverend Bruce VonWald and the Reverend Carl Murphy will officiate. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Wagoner, with Grady Lawhorn, Jim Gladden, Vernon Goodman, Orville Fielden, Albert Rosenthal and James Jennings serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Ben Anguino and Vernon Castillo and Vernon's grandsons. Vernon was born December 16, 1911 in Mount Ida, AR, one of thirteen children born to Andrew and Della (Creek) Rosenthal. Before retirement he worked in construction as a carpenter. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Sylvia Rosenthal of Wagoner; two stepdaughters, Barbara Edge and Donna Philllips and her family; stepson, Danny Childers and his wife, Cindy and their family, all of Muskogee; one sister, Maxine Jennings of Wagoner; grandchildren, Patti Ford and family of Muskogee; Rhonda Hash and husband, Steve, and their family and Angie Rosenthal and her family, all of Wagoner; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by two wives, Ola Rosenthal and Charlene Rosenthal; his parents; and brothers, Charlie, Willie, Freeman, George, Buck, Ernest, Louie, Earl and Joe; and two sisters, Zola and Edith.
