Vesta Louise Porter was born April 27, 1938 in Porter, Oklahoma to John Hallum Sr. and Georgie (Criner) Hallum Kirk. She was a resident of Coweta, OK. Vesta and her husband, Marvin, enjoyed golf, often winning a tournaments as a team.

Vesta departed this life late Monday, January 18, 2016, at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK. She was preceded in death by her father, John Hallum Sr., her mother and stepfather who raised her, Georgie and Wesley Kirk; a sister, Bessie Roach, and a brother, John Hallum Jr.

Survivors include her husband, Marvin Louis Porter of the home; four children, Tom Porter of Tulsa, Lawanna Hunter and her husband, Roy Jr. of Stone Bluff, OK, Steve Porter of Tulsa, OK, and Teresa Fry of Coweta, OK; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Mildred Montgomery of Porter, OK; a sister-in-law and her husband, Ester and Melvin Garner of Salem, IL; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

A Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Friday at Mallett Funeral Home.

The Funeral Service will be at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Mallett Funeral Home Chapel in Wagoner. The Reverend David Barber will officiate. Interment will be in the Bennett Addition of Elmwood Cemetery in Wagoner, OK.
