The funeral service for Violet Brown of Hulbert will be at 10 AM Friday, December 5, 2008 at Mallett Funeral Home Chapel in Wagoner. Mr. Terry Smalling will officiate. Interment will be at 12 PM Friday at Fort Gibson National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jim Cole, Gene Hunt, Kyle Neal, Matt Clapp, Joe Clapp and E. C. Jones. Violet Viola Brown was born December 25, 1922 in Tulsa, OK to Joe and Ida (Scribner) Estep. She and her husband, Glen Brown, were married on Easter Sunday nearly 70 years ago. They enjoyed a long and happy life together, making their home in Stone Bluff, Fort Gibson, Owasso, Okay and Wagoner before settling in Hulbert, OK. Violet cared deeply about people and donated to charity often to help others. She was an animal lover, especially her dogs and cats. She enjoyed sewing. Violet departed this life Monday, December 1, 2008 at her home just 24 days before her 86th birthday. She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Gladys, Betty and Eula. Survivors include her husband, Glenn Joseph Brown of the home; two daughters, Shirley Brown of Wagoner and Barbara Noe and her husband, John, of Hulbert; a son, Dwight Brown of Wagoner; grandchildren, Lonnie Clapp, Joe Clapp, Barbara Matthews, Ethan Brown, Deanne, April, Adam Brown, Mike Kirkpatrick, Brad Kirkpatrick, Michelle Kirkpatrick of Saint Petersburg, FL, Anita Blair of Seattle, WA and Greg Blair of Wagoner; eighteen great-grandchildren; two great-great- grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
