Obituary

The funeral service for Wanda Louise (Noe) Hodson, a native of Muskogee and longtime Wagoner resident, will be at 10:00 am Tuesday, September 24 at the First United Methodist Church in Wagoner. Officiating will be the Reverend Gloria Denton.

Friends and family will gather for a visitation on Monday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Viewing hours are 2:00 to 5:00 pm Sunday and 9:00 am to 7:00 pm Monday at Mallett Funeral Home and Crematory in Wagoner.

A committal service will be held at noon on Tuesday at Fort Gibson National Cemetery, where Wanda will be laid to rest with her husband, Robert Leon Hudson.

Wanda Louise Noe was born August 15, 1946 in Porter, OK to Glenadine (Collier) and Alvin Noe. She grew up in Muskogee, OK.  She was married to Robert Leon Hodson of May 6, 1967 in the Trinity United Methodist Church in Muskogee.

Wanda was a dedicated member in her church and participated in many activities which expressed her strong faith in God. She loved music and sang in the choir. She was active in her Sunday school class, the Lamplighters, the Lunch Bunch Bible Study and the Prayer Shawl Ministry. In earlier years Wanda took part in organizing the Wagoner Area Neighbors. Another contribution she made included serving on the Board of Directors of the Wagoner Public Library, as Wanda really liked reading. She was a member of the Widows Club, which met on Tuesday evenings for friendship and support. Anyone who knew Wanda knew her talents as an excellent seamstress, whether she was knitting, crocheting or quilting.

Wanda departed this life Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at her Wagoner home, surrounded by her loving family who will miss her dearly. Survivors include two daughters, Rachel Benadum and husband, Kenny and Amy Hodson, all of Wagoner; one son, Ted Holson and Mikayla Powers of West Virginia; four grandchildren, Carollyne Nicole Hummingbird and husband, Travis, Ashley Krystyne Phillips, all of Wagoner, George Robert "Bobby" Phillips and Elaine Hughes of Tahlequah and Brandon Hodson of Wagoner; one brother, John Muma and wife, Jackie of Florida; two sisters, Jimmie McCluer and Linda Brewer, both of Wagoner; three great-grandchildren and one soon to arrive, Olivia Moss, Audry Jane Hummingbird, Daniel Mastin Hummingbird and Lincoln Koa Phillips.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin Dean Noe and Glenadine C. (Collier) Noe Austin; her husband, Robert Leon Hodson; a brother, Pierce Noe; sister, Judy Kingle; brother-in-law, Mike McCluer and aunt, Mary Kellogg.
