Obituary

Wanda Faye Thomas was born August 7, 1931 in Locust Grove, Oklahoma to John and Zola (Sanford) Gravitt. She and her family made their home in Wagoner for many years. Wanda liked to fish and play board and card games with family and friends. She loved to make a vegetable garden and was able to till her own garden well into her 60's. Wanda departed this life on Sunday, January 31, 2010, at Solara Hospital in Muskogee, Oklahoma, at the age of 78 years, 5 months and 24 days. She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving soul mate and husband, Loyd "Gene" Thomas; two sisters, Joan Whittacker and Lois Thompson, and an infant son, Danny Thomas. Wanda will be greatly missed by her loving family, who include her son and daughter-in-law, John and Lawanna Thomas of Wagoner; daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Chris Larch of Wagoner; three grandchildren, Michael, Bryan and Stacy; a sister, Beatrice Williams of Broken Arrow; brothers, J. B. Gravitt of Muskogee and Bill Gravitt of Wagoner; a brother-in-law, Wayne Whittacker; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. The funeral service for Wanda will be at 2PM Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at Mallett Funeral Home Chapel in Wagoner with the Reverend Lisa Sowers officiating. Interment will be in Hogan Cemetery, near Locust Grove, OK. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Cagle, Wayne Smith, Leon Thomas, Don Thomas, Wayne Thomas and Gerold Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be Ed Henson, Leonard Gross, Sandy Pepper, Derrial Moore and Frances Moore.
