Obituary

Warren Arthur Gardner was born on September 17, 1938, in Atchison, Kansas, to Thomas Arthur Gardner and Nellie Bell (Wood) Gardner.  He departed this life on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at his home in Hulbert, Oklahoma, at the age of 86 years.  Warren, a proud Hulbert High School graduate of 1957, served his country honorably after enlisting in the Army, where he was stationed in Hawaii.  Following his military service, he returned home and married Wanda Thornburg on June 13, 1960, sharing nearly six decades of love and companionship until her passing in 2020.

Warren was a dedicated and hardworking individual, committed to providing for his family through diverse roles, including working on the family farm.  He cherished moments with his family, especially his grandchildren, and found joy in outdoor pursuits such as loading his hounds and spending the evenings around the campfire, listening to his hounds pursue foxes- moments filled with camaraderie and cherished moments that he spoke of often.

Warren was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Nellie Gardner; and his beloved wife, Wanda Gardner.

Surviving Warren are his children, James (Stasia) of Wagoner, OK; Connie (Tim) Moreland of Tahlequah, OK, Wayne (Crystal) Gardner of Hulbert, OK; and Julie (Clifford) Cuba of Waiphau, HI; his grandchildren, Brandon (Lindsey) Kilpatrick, Kelsie (Trey) Stephens, JT Gardner, Michelle Gardner, Bryce (LaRena) Gardner, Gabby Cuba, and Jeremiah Cuba; great-grandchildren, Braxton Kilpatrick, Lexi Kilpatrick, Kinzy Gardner, Athena Gardner, Zoey Gardner, Logen Gardner, Cheyenne Cuba, and Hayden Cuba; numerous friends and extended family who will greatly miss him.

Warren's passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who knew him, and while his family will feel his loss deeply, they will cherish the countless memories they shared, ensuring his enduring legacy lives on through their love and remembrance.

A private family memorial service will be held to honor the life of Warren Gardner.

The family of Warren Gardner has entrusted his care and cremation to Mallett Funeral Home and Crematory, 417 East Cherokee street, Wagoner, Oklahoma, 74467, 918-485-2911
