IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Wayne Alford
Rosenthal
October 22, 1932 – October 18, 2023
Wayne Alford Rosenthal was born October 22, 1932 in Cherokee County, Oklahoma to Vernon Malford Rosenthal and Ola (Maner) Rosenthal. Following high school graduation he served in the Army National Guard and was called to active service during the Korean War.
He was a carpenter by trade and was proud to have helped build bridges for the MJ Lee Company. He later used his skills in home construction. His experience and knowledge were valuable to many customers whom he helped when he worked for the lumber companies around Wagoner.
Wayne married the love of his life, the former Sylvia Christine Spears, on December 16, 1952. They were married for 70 years, sharing a life full of love and a solid faith in God. They were faithful members of the Church of God in Wagoner. Wayne stayed involved with his church by teaching Sunday school and serving on the Church Board.
In his early years Wayne liked rabbit hunting with his beagles. He also loved to read, especially while studying the Bible.
The most important thing in Wayne's life was his family. He loved using his woodworking skills to make things for his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The most cherished memory they will rely on will be what a very kind and compassionate man Wayne was. His legacy of love and gentleness will carry on through the generations.
Wayne departed this life to be with his Lord on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at his home in Wagoner, OK, just four days before his 91st birthday. His wife, Sylvia, preceded him in death on August 16. Also preceding him were his parents, Vernon and Ola Rosenthal; a daughter, Patti Ford and a son-in-law, Steve Hash.
He is survived by two daughters, Rhonda Hash and Angela Rosenthal, both of Wagoner; grandchildren and their spouses, Kevin and Pam Hamil of Muskogee, Mike and Lori Gilmore of Broken Arrow, James and Chasity Hash of Wagoner, Natalie Hash of Tulsa, Chucky Jones of Wagoner, Dakota and Stephanie Jones of Tahlequah and Ciara Graham and Mike Bradt of Richmond, VA; numerous great and great great-grandchildren; extended family and friends.
A Memorial Service, celebrating the life of Wayne Rosenthal will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at the Church of God, in Wagoner, Oklahoma.
