Wesley Lee Shearrer was born March 25, 1937 in Phoenix, Arizona to Truman E. and Gladys Laura (Tannehill) Shearrer. The family later moved to Wagoner, Oklahoma where Wesley grew up.
He met the love of his life, Edith Marietta (Combs) three weeks before their marriage, a union that lasted 58 years until her death in 2014. Their early years were spent in Sacramento, California. In 1980 the family moved to Wagoner, Oklahoma.
Before retirement Wesley worked as a drywall contractor and was known for his skilled work. He enjoyed woodworking in his later years. Other hobbies included hunting, fishing, archery and drawing.
Wesley departed this life Sunday evening, August 28, 2022 in Muskogee, Oklahoma at the age of 85 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Marietta Shearrer; his father, Truman E. Shearrer; mother, Gladys Laura (Tannehill) Shearrer and his three sisters, Shirley Ann Price, Beverly Jean Davis and Virginia Evelyn Combs.
Survivors include his three children and their spouses, Laura Wenona Eaton and Paul Eaton of Olivehurst, California, Jenni Lee Carter and Gary Carter of Muskogee, Oklahoma and Wesley Dwayne Shearrer and Angie Day of Wagoner, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Samantha McKenzie and Ryan of Tacoma, Washington, Ashley Hamilton and Cale of Pumas Lake, California, Shawna Glass and Robert Hanon of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Kiley Dornan and James of Kingston, Oklahoma, Erik Sanders of Wagoner, Oklahoma, Blake Shearrer and Shelby Phillips of Charleston, South Carolina, Wesley Tyler Shearrer of Lincoln, Nebraska, Stormy Day of Wagoner, Oklahoma and Taegan Trueblood of Wagoner, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Tyler Glass, Rachel Glass, Charlotte Hamilton, Hollie Hamilton, Coulton Dornan, James Dornan and Gavin Lynn Dornan; numerous nieces and nephews; other extended family and friends.
Viewing will be Thursday beginning at 11 am until 7 pm.
The service to celebrate Wesley's life will be at 2 pm Friday, September 2, 2022 in the Chapel at Mallett Funeral Home in Wagoner.
Interment will be beside his wife, Edith Shearrer, in Elmwood Cemetery. Family and other loved ones will serve as pallbearers.
