A funeral service will be held for Willa Jean Essary on Saturday, April 13 at 2 o'clock in the Church of Christ in Wagoner, Oklahoma with Dan Fredman officiating. Viewing will be on Friday, April 12 from 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. with a visitation being held from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.
Willa died Saturday, April 6, 2019 in Wagoner, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Everine McEntire; sisters, Joyce and Betty; brother, Bill; and her husband, Raymond Essary.
Willa was born in Haskell, Oklahoma on August 7, 1930. She grew up in Haskell and married Ray Essary in 1948. She raised her four boys on a farm near the Arkansas River between Porter and Haskell before moving to Wagoner where she was an active member of the Wagoner Church of Christ and earned her degree from Northeastern Oklahoma State University in Accounting. She retired from Natco where she worked as an accountant. She enjoyed fishing, all her great-grandbabies, and the Home Demonstration Club.
She is survived by her sons, John (and Karen) of Juneau, AK, Mark (and Joy) of Hockley, TX, David (and Vicky) of Edmond, OK, and Alan (and Beth) of Muskogee; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; her brother, Bob; and sister, Peggy.
