William Stuart Thead was born July 5, 1943 in Charlotte, North Carolina to William Harold and Iva Lois (White) Thead. Following graduation from high school William attended the University of Kentucky and served in the United States Air Force.

William moved to Oklahoma from Florida when he relocated to join Coburn Optical. He retired from there after a long career as a salesman, also working as an engineer and machine developer.

In his spare time William liked shooting and particularly enjoyed the safety meetings with his friends.

William departed this life Friday, January 14, 2022 in Tulsa, OK at the age of 78 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Iva Thead and a brother, William Phillip Thead.

He will be greatly missed by family and friends alike. Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Lynn Thead, two children; four step-children; eight grandchildren, other extended family; friends and his Coburn family from all over the world.
