Obituary

Graveside funeral services for Willie Alvin Moore, 52 of Webbers Falls will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 6, 2013 at Box Cemetery, Vian, Oklahoma with the Reverend Ryan Alsap officiating. Alvin was born October 8, 1950 in Kansas City, Kansas to his parents, Willie and Velma Ruth (Davis) West. He grew up and attended school in Tulsa, returning to Wagoner when he was 18. Alvin worked as an appliance salesman and repairman for The Appliance Store in Granbury, Texas for several years. On January 31, 1986 he was united in marriage to Gayla Faye Cowart in Independence, Kansas. Alvin loved being outdoors, camping and fishing at the lake at every opportunity. He was an exceptional husband and father and adored all of his grandchildren. Surrounded by his family, he passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. Alvin was preceded in death by his mother, Velma West; two brothers, Doyle and Kevin Moore and by his grandmother, Nora Davis. He is survived by his wife, Gayla Faye Moore of the home; five children, Jesse Blair of Wagoner, Melissa Postma and Jason of Bakersfield, CA, Chris Blair and Brenda of Wagoner, Destiny Knight of Galveston, TX and Adam Moore also of Wagoner; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Larry Moore and Sharon of Wagoner and Mike Moore and Bertha of Webbers Falls, OK; a sister, Sharon Moore of Bartlesville; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. Funeral arrangements and interment in Box Cemetery, Vian, OK are directed by Mallett Funeral Home of Wagoner.
