Wilma Jean Swearingin was born December 1, 1936 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to Nathaniel Armstrong Thompson and Nettie (Harrell) Thompson. Wilma married Jerry Loyd Swearingin on May 24, 1957, and they celebrated 65 years of marriage this year.

Wilma assisted her husband in his business, Swearingin Service Company, in Muskogee, Oklahoma and sold real estate for a time. She was a dedicated wife and mother.

Wilma departed this life Monday morning, October 3, 2022 at her home in Wagoner, Oklahoma at the age of 85 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nathaniel and Nettie Thompson; her son, Michael Swearingin; her granddaughter, Amanda Williams and all of her seven siblings, including her twin, Wanda June Thompson.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry Loyd Swearingin of the home; her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah Kay and Charles Gibson of Wagoner, Oklahoma; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; many nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.

A graveside committal will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 5, 2022 in Pioneer Cemetery in Wagoner, Oklahoma. Brother Brian Fehenel will officiate.
