Winfred Doyle Roller was born January 1, 1924 in Cleveland, Oklahoma to Herschel and Cora (Horton) Roller. He was raised near Springfield Missouri and later moved with his family to Oklahoma. He attended Spartan School of Aeronautics for training in aircraft engineering, his profession with American Airlines prior to retirement. Doyle served a number of years with the United States Air Force and the Oklahoma Air National Guard. Doyle and his wife of 42 years, Elsie Marie Roller, made their home in Wagoner and were members of the First Baptist Church.
Doyle departed this life early Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma just ten days before his 92nd birthday. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Harold Roller; and a sister, Maxine Miller.
Survivors include his wife, Elsie Roller; a son, Richard Roller and his wife, Lisa; three daughters, Marian Williams, Jean Hancock and Sue Ann Calhoun; a sister, Dorothy Alexander; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends.
The graveside funeral service will be at 11 A.M. Monday, December 28, 2015 at Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma. The Reverend Mark Pointer will officiate. There will be no public viewing.
