Alta Marie Tibbs Burnett Mashburn was born to I.W. "Dink" and Claudia Tibbs on December 7, 1937 in Claremore, OK. She attended Vann's Lake School until fifth grade, then the family moved to Warland, Wyoming, and back to Porter in 1950. Alta graduated from Porter High School in 1955. Her work career included Wagoner County Commissioners, Okla. Relief Board, Okla. Employment Insurance Commission and Bureau of Indian Affairs. She was an Avon District Manager. Alta married Wayne Riley in 1954. They had two children, Valorie and Brenda. In 1963 she married Jack Burnett. They were married for nearly 25 years until his death in 1987. She was later married to Dale Mashburn until his death in 2005. Also preceding her in death were her parents, a sister, Claudia Webb and granddaughter, Lori Lynn Wilson. Alta departed this life October 7, 2021 at the age of 83 years. Survivors include her daughters, Valorie Baker and husband, Wayne, of Porter, Brenda Stirlen of Porter, and Farah Dawn Clark of the home; six grandchildren, Julie and Steve Dickey of Porter, Ricky and Amanda Wilson of Wagoner, Melissa and Bub Smith of Porter, Amy and Steve Mann of Muskogee, Carrie and Tim VanHorn of Wagoner and Chance and Lacey Stirlen of Muskogee; great-grandchildren Jake and Trevor Chesbro, Dylan Hunter, Nick Smith, Breanna Call, Landyn and Bradyn Smith, Aaron, Adrianna and Ashley Bruner and Jessie Crabtree, Makaylee Freeman, Katelynn VanHorn and Gunner and Braelyn Stirlen; great great-grandchildren, Paydon and Jenson Chesbro, AJ, MiKenleigh and Landon Bruner, Jesse Crabtree and Ayzleigh Bruner; sister, Dolores Franklin; brothers, I.W. "Dink" Tibbs and Richard Tibbs, many more relatives and friends. All will miss Alta tremendously; she was very special to many. They find peace in knowing she is rejoicing in Heaven and will keep watch over her loved ones. Viewing will be Monday from 2-5 pm and Tuesday from 9 am -7 pm. The visitation will begin at 5 pm. A celebration of her life will be at 2 pm Wednesday in the Chapel at Mallett Funeral Home in Wagoner. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Muskogee.
