Obituary

Arthur Lee Holcomb was born in Bastrop, LA on December 6th, 1944. He was known as Arthur Lee to his parents and siblings and "just Art" to those that knew him.

He was preceded in death by his Mother, Naomi Holcomb; Father, Frank Holcomb; Daughter, Tanya Holcomb; and Brother, Bud Holcomb

He is survived by his Wife, Lonnie Holcomb; Daughters, Teresa Etheridge, Angela Ross, and Melisa Hodges; Sons, Robert Holcomb and Jason Holcomb;

Siblings Ruth Robinson, Shirley Martin, Bea Branstetter, and Pam Vail;

Grandsons Chris Hammons, Michael Hammons, Jake Ross, Austin Hodges, Avery Hodges, Josh Copus, and Eli Holcomb;

Granddaughters Danielle Ross, Kaeleigh Dine, Kameryn Holcomb, Alivia Holcomb, and Laura Somarriba;

Great grandchildren John Michael, Maddy, Kohl, Kambree, Sophie, Aria, and Eva.

He graduated High School from Wilmot, AR in 1962. He worked on the farm as a young man. He often spoke of his time spent in cotton and soy bean fields. He was always known as a hard worker and he always instilled this in his children.  He eventually came to reside in Wagoner in 1979. He was a Painting Contractor since putting down roots here in Wagoner. Examples of his hard work can be found all over Oklahoma's Green Country and as far away as Mississippi and Ohio. His customers always referred him to others and they never hesitated to seek him out for repeat business. His employees over the years knew him as a perfectionist who expected the same of them.

He was an avid outdoorsman who always loved to camp, hunt, and fish. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge of the outdoors. He became involved with Boy Scout Troop 637 and enjoyed Scouting with his sons. Later in life he became very fond of the Buffalo and White River areas in Arkansas. He could be found on the banks or in a boat on the river with a line in the water waiting for a big trout to strike.  He also enjoyed the fruits of his efforts by having a big, fresh fish fry.

Art was also a Christian. Over the years he imparted the love of Christ to all that knew him. Any time he and his siblings got together they would sing gospel songs. Other times he would hear a familiar tune and join right along with his beautiful, booming voice. For a period of time he taught a young Men's Sunday school class and lead a Men's Bible Study. Every job was an opportunity to show the love of Christ. He never shied away from discussing and professing the Gospel of Christ.

Art touched a lot of lives over a lifetime. He will be missed as a husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
