Darrell Gene McCollough was born April 14, 1944 in Porter, Oklahoma to Edgar Newman "Bud" and Bessie Eudean (Nelson) McCollough. He graduated from Porter High School in 1962. He married Margaret Ruth McCollough on June 18, 1966, and they enjoyed a close marriage for 45 years until her passing in 2012.

Darrell and Margaret were well known in Porter. For 42 years they owned and managed the One Stop Convenience Store in Porter. All his life Darrell was a farmer and rancher. He was a member of the Methodist Church and the Elks Lodge and volunteered on the Porter Fire Department.

Darrell departed this life November 16, 2021 at his home in Porter, Oklahoma at the age of 77 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Bessie McCollough; his wife, Margaret Ruth McCollough and his brother, Ray McCollough.

Survivors include his two sons and daughters-in-law, Darren and Sheila McCollough and Dennis and Christy McCollough, all of Porter; four grandchildren, Kasey McCollough Holman, Alex McCollough Anguiano, Hannah McCollough and Maverick McCollough; three great-grandchildren, Daysi Chica, David Chica and Olivia Holman; one sister, Shirley Tedder of Porter; extended family and friends.

The funeral service to celebrate Darrell's life will be at 1 pm Tuesday, November 23, 2021 in the Chapel of Mallett Funeral Home on Wagoner. The Reverend Charles Smith will officiate.

Interment will be beside his wife, Margaret in Greenwood Cemetery in Porter. Pallbearers will be Eddie Anguiano, Maverick McCollough, Seth Campbell, Jeff Gillan, Therron Riley and David Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Pat Boyd, Mike Jones, David Coffman, John Walters and Jackie Hale.
