Obituary

Gregory Leon Blaylock was born May 9, 1966, in Weatherford, OK to Edward Leon and Carol Linda (Adams) Blaylock. His family moved to Wagoner, Ok when Greg was young, and he graduated from Wagoner High School in 1984. He later earned a Bachelor's degree at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK.

Greg married the former Tammy Dawn Brewster-Smith on April 22, 1989, and they were blessed with a son, Gregory Keyton and a daughter, Kenady Dawn. He loved his poodle and his grand dogs, two standard poodles. He was always ready to support school activities, especially his work with the Takedown Club.

Greg was an excellent example of a family man. Their family's strong connection to each other, expressed with love and support for each other, is beyond the average, and will be a source of strength in days to come.

When Tammy opened her store, Nothing to Wear, Greg was her greatest supporter and helper. He could still be found sometimes at the store, doing whatever he could to help out.

In the fall of 1990, he started the Blaylock Pest Control and Lawn Care business that was so well known around town. Although Greg's family was the most important part of his life, Greg was a man who loved people and talking to people. He spent many hours visiting with his customers and showing a genuine interest in their welfare. Greg had the knack of making every patron feel that they were his only client.  He was a member of the Oklahoma Pest Control Association

Greg loved the sport of golf and played regularly. He was proud to say he was a member at the Sequoyah Park Golf Course. Much of his spare time was also spent making sure his truck and other vehicles were in top shape. His family recalls this was a source of pride for Greg through the years.

Greg departed this life unexpectedly early Thursday, September 3, 2020 in Tulsa, OK at the age of 54 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Leon Blaylock and his grandparents, Frank Adams and Iva and Lowell Blaylock. Greg's uncle, Darrell Blaylock died Thursday morning

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Tammy Dawn Blaylock; his son, Gregory Keyton Blaylock, his daughter and son-in-law, Kenady Dawn (Blaylock) Plunkett and Cody Plunkett; his mother and step-father, Carol Linda Cleland and Kenneth Cleland, all of Wagoner, OK; his sister and brother-in-law, Cheri Lee (Blaylock) Simmons and Ted Simmons of Salina, OK; his paternal grandmother, Junie Redford; many nieces and nephews; other extended family and his many friends.

Viewing will be Thursday, 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. at Mallett Funeral Home.

The family will attend a private committal service at Saturday, September 12, 2020 in Pioneer Cemetery in Wagoner.

The memorial service, where friends and family will gather to celebrate Greg's life, will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Wagoner Performing Arts Center. Officiating will be Dr. Jason Fullerton. Attendees are encouraged to wear OU or OSU colors or apparel to the service.
