Jerry Loyd Swearingin was born September 4, 1935 in Mulberry, Arkansas to Idus McCabe Swearingin and Stella Clark Swearingin. He was raised in Mulberry and later served in the United States Navy.
Jerry was married to the love of his life, Wilma Jean, on May 24, 1956. They were married for 65 years before Wilma's passing in 2022. They were blessed with two children, Michael Loyd and Deborah Kay.
Jerry was a Jehovah's Witness for the past 48 years. He loved gardening both flowers and vegetables. He was an avid mower and kept his lawn picture-perfect.
Jerry was a dedicated appliance repairman. He began his career working for Sears where he was the Service Manager for many years. He later opened his own business in Muskogee, OK, Swearingin Appliances. In the beginning he sold and repaired appliances, later concentrating on appliance repair. He was in business from 1976 until 1998 when he retired.
Jerry departed this life on Monday, January 1, 2024 in Tulsa, OK at the age of 88 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Idus and Stella Swearingin; his wife, Wilma Swearingin; his son, Michael Loyd Swearingin; granddaughter, Amanda Williams; and all of his brothers and his sister.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Charles Gibson of Wagoner; granddaughters, Brandi Dawn Williams and Dale Lamb of Wagoner and Daiquiri Dawn Williams and Brian Beaty of Wagoner; great-grandchildren, Meranda Porter and husband, Brandon, Courvoisier Williams, Chardonnay Williams, Caipirinha Tyree and Cruzan Tyree; great-greatgrandchildren, Kylie Porter and Beau Porter; other extended family and friends.
A graveside service to honor the Life of Jerry Swearingin, will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. at Pioneer Cemetery in Wagoner, Oklahoma, Brother Brian Fehenel will be officiating.
