Obituary

Jim Carl Easley was born July 8, 1946 in Wagoner, Oklahoma to Carl L. Easley and Helen Louise (VanTuyl) Smith. He attended Porter Schools and furthered his studies at Abilene Christian College following high school graduation. He married his high school sweetheart, Charlotte Faye Essary on March 21, 1969.

Before retirement Jim was employed in the Environmental Control Department of the City of Muskogee. He was an avid photographer and was always taking pictures of the family that he loved to display. He had a wedding photography business for more than thirty years.

Jim loved the Lord, his church, and was looking forward to getting back to regular attendance. He instilled in his family the importance of attending. He was proud of serving in the position of Elder in the Church of Christ for thirteen years.

Jim loved attending sports or anything in which the grandchildren were participating. His family was the most important thing to Jim, and each one will cherish special memories of their devoted husband, father and grandfather. They will always recall his "Dad" jokes and how he was a big fan of Elvis Presley. He loved all animals, especially his cat, Rascal. His favorite vacation spot was Branson, MO.

Most of all, friends and family alike will remember how Jim cared for other people. His was truly a giving heart, and he would give anything he had to those around him. He loved giving copies of his favorite movies to everyone, but, whatever he had was for all to share. He was known to say, "I may not have any money, but I have a strong back."

Jim departed this life Monday evening, June 3, 2024 at his home in Porter, OK, with his loving family by his side. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl L. Easley, his mother and stepfather, Helen (VanTuyl) and George Smith; his maternal grandmother, Florence VanTuyl who raised him; and his brother, David Easley.
