Louis Mills Bevan Jr. was born on April 18, 1933, to Louis Mill Bevan Sr. and Nora Dean (Birdwell) Bevan, in Hugo, OK. He enlisted in the US Army on September 1, 1955, proudly serving his country, before he married Leah Edwards on July 20, 1962.  She was the love of his life, married 61 years.

Louis had many things in life that he enjoyed, but God and Family were his main priorities in life. He enjoyed sports and coached his children and grandchildren in any sport they decided to play. Louis was an avid OU fan and appreciated a good game of golf and fishing when he got the opportunity.

Louis departed this life on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at his home in Hulbert, Oklahoma at the age of 90 years.  Preceding him in death were his parents, Louis Bevan Sr., and Nora Bevan; a brother; and 3 sisters.

Cherishing the memories of Louis are his wife, Leah Bevan of the home; a daughter, Kim and her husband, Greg Orth of Sperry, OK; a son, Steve and his wife, Alina Bevan of Acworth, Georgia; and a daughter, Jane Bevan of the home; 11 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family who will miss him dearly.

The viewing will take place in the Chapel of Mallett Funeral Home and Crematory on Monday, February 19, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The family will greet friends and family in the Chapel of Mallett Funeral Home and Crematory at a Visitation being held on Monday, February 19, 2024, from 5-7 p.m.

A Celebration of Life honoring the Life of Louis Bevan Jr. will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at the Abundant Grace Methodist Church in Wagoner, OK, at 10:00 a.m., with Reverend Steve Harshaw officiating.

Interment will follow at the National Cemetery, in Fort Gibson, OK, with Military Funeral Honors.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Saint Jude Children's Hospital .
