Robert Arthur Butler was born June 16, 1935 to Roger Arthur and Mina Bell (Stover) Butler. He married Alice Marie (McLaughlin) on May 22, 1955, and they enjoyed many years together until her death on February 21, 2020. They will both be missed by family and friends alike.

Robert was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served many hours as a Temple Ordinance worker.  He was a welder with the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local #430 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

In his younger days, Robert loved archery, fishing and hunting. His love continued for the outdoors as he grew older. He also enjoyed rodeos and was a member of NEOLA and OFRA.

Robert died Friday, March 27, 2020 at his home in Chouteau, Oklahoma at the age of 84 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Alice Marie Butler; and siblings, Roger Jr., James, George "Red", Ernest "Allen", Douglas, Franklin and Inabell.

Robert is survived by his children and their spouses, Shirley Marie Butler, Patty and Jerry Barnett, and Curtis and Trenia Butler; grandchildren, Celinda Butler, Cris Rodgers, Ashley Bartholomew, Aaron Butler, Jarrel Jackson, Amanda Butler, and Matthew Barnett; great-grandchildren, Cole Rodgers, Julianna Rodgers, Ashton Bartholomew, Trey Bartholomew, Jax Little, Kacen Butler, Presley Butler, Hallie Jackson, Cecilee Jackson, Lily Rush, Wyatt Rush and Cyrus Barnett; a sister and her spouse, Erah Ann and Charles DeLaRosa; many other relatives and friends.

Viewing will be at Mallett Funeral Home and Crematory in Wagoner, Oklahoma on Tuesday, March 31 from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Wednesday, April 1 from 10 a.m. – Noon.

The funeral service honoring Robert's life has been cancelled. A memorial service will be planned at a later date. Pallbearers will be Cris Rodgers, Aaron Butler, Ashton Bartholomew, Trey Bartholomew, Jax Little, Cole Rodgers, Kacen Butler, Jarrel Jackson, and Josh Bartholomew.
